Question about 50/50's and polishing.

I've got a quick question that I would like to see if anyone else had some input on. Recently I got a call from a client who's car, I completed almost three years ago, and he's telling me a line has formed where I did a 50/50 on his hood. Well, apparently this has "developed over time" as he puts it because of course this line wasn't there when the car was finished by me, again almost three years ago.

I asked him how he took care of the car, he says he let sit over time and said the last time he washed and wax the car was about 6 months ago. Now I'm a little confused on how this could happen because from what I understand is when you polish you're leveling the paint flat and a 50/50 shot would be a leveled side vs a un-leveled side and again when you complete the panel the whole panel is completely flat and leveled.

What in the world? Anyways I'll be taking a look at this later on today but I don't know what he wants me to do for him after 3 years later.

Any input or comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

This is what I used for the paint correction:

    Paint Correction:
    Flex 3401
    Menzerna Super Intensive Polish
    Menzerna Nano Polish

And some shots of the infamous 50/50:

i'm calling bs on his part. As long as the entire (panel in qestion) car was polished, i don't think their is any logical explanation how a line could develop from your process.

BTW , that last 50/50 on that black m3 you did deserves contest submission.

You know that's what I'm thinking too, and to this very day no one has ever called saying they've had a problem, because it's not possible. Ugh.

    Thanks for the post!

At least you have the pics to see exactly where the 50/50 was.........is. :poke: Good luck....I smell someone wanting a free polish.

I say he tried to 50:50 himself but failed utterly
Besides why did he only tell u 3 years later when most things are already out of warranty, should of notified u first thing if he has any intention of getting it looked at and not pet it dwell
Prob run a ptg between the line as well to see if it's ridiculously unleveled

Sounds like he caused or (fell victim to) a big scratch down the center of his hood and now wants it polished out for free.
