So, I've put 1Z Glantz Wax on three of my cars. Beading is just scary good. One car has had it on for 6 weeks and it's still going strong. Has anybody tried to top it with anything, or add another coat? All of my cars except one are outside 24/7 (Seattle weather). I don't want to join the "I just put my 8th coat of Z-5 on and man it's starting to really pop!" club. I'm looking for max protection and durability. I have old cars and they aren't like these new cars. Two of them are resprays and I'm not sure how much paint I have. I do not want to polish every six months. I just don't think the paints are up to it. I guess my best plan (using the products I'm gravitating to) is to ORN them every couple of weeks and monitor how well the 1Z holds up and ONR/1Z when it demands it. It just seems that the 1Z is so wierd. So easy it almost feels like you're not doing anything. No pressure on - quick light haze - minimal buff with a MF. It just doens't feel as though I've done enough to protect. Anything else you'd do in my situation?
Yeah, just be careful about using too much (as with a lot of products) and you'll get some streaking. As with Menz FMJ, this is in with Glanz. I use this along with FMJ as sealants of choice. Durability is top notch and slickness is off the charts.
Yep, agree. When I apply it differently, I pout it into a small sprayer bottle (don't keep it like that; it will eat the seals), and apply it like a QD. Mind you, I'm using the Euro-formula, which is thin as water. I like sprayers which have a very fine atomization, because as the droplets travel through the air, the solvent sorta flashes off and the new layer has a thicker feel. Not actual layering (can't be done with GW), but almost.
