OK, I was looking at what Phil sells and I was considering the 2000 with software and printer. Phil, is the printer really needed? Is the DFT good enough for the above average detailer. I don't want to spend 700 when I could spend an extra 500 for the better set-up. Any opinions?
Well you don't really need the printer, the purpose of the printer is to simply print the readings. I don't have the printer but have the software instead and the difference is that with the software you can download and save the readings on your laptop. DFT is good for Pro's and regular detailers, there is nothing wrong with the DFT paint gauge but the Positector 200 compared to the DFT, they are completely different types of machines.
