Everyone here knows Paul Dalton right....Well he's repping a new machine that used a high powered blower that blows dry ice on the inside of the engine compartment of a car. He claims it degenerates dirt and grease into thin are.

This machine cost 5000 pounds + you'll need a 60+ gallon air compressor and you'll need to feed dry ice into it......what ever happened to the good all days where OPC 1:5 and a RG brush would do the trick.

haha...I was going to say. It's like steam - but the other side of the thermometer.

Apparently he says there's no water usage at all, so there are very slim chances of problems occurring because no water usage.

sounds unnecessary and overkill to me! But hey I'm just a simple guy.

This isn't "new" (maybe to detailing), they clean the fans for production workers in the factory I used to work in the same way. Good to see techniques/ideas bleed over to other industries though.

Seems like a good idea for those who are looking to slash water usage. Although using steam isn't a bad alternative either. It's much cheaper to get a steamer too.

Not when the steamer you want happens to be the $6k optima steamer, lol

    So APC is like $5.
A decent steamer is 100 times that.
And this machine is said to be 10 times that price.

    LOL.

Paul Dalton clients pay him 75 quid an hour and are some of the most demanding customers out there...It is a little bit out of my budget...

I get it done for $5. I spread Peanut butter on everything and have the neighbour's dog lick it all off.

I'm nearly certain I've seen the same technique being used by a German detailer in a video a while back. I think he was a Swissvax Authorized detailer as well...

That looks amazing. I would have that machine, if I won the lottery.

I just downloaded the video, and slowed it down to "normal" speed....that is VERY time consuming and inefficient. It takes a good 30 seconds to do less than HALF a square foot of cleaning and it's not 100% clean. The wheels turned out alright, but as soon as there's some grease, it's not efficient. I'll stick with my inexpensive, and effective APC. thanks :p

5000 pounds and it doesn't even get all of the leaves out of the engine bay or totally clean the wheels LOL

I saw Swissvax video on the SV site it was in german where one of the detailers from Swissvax uses dry ice machine very similar to that which also lets a steam effect but after he applied and removed SV Devine to an R8. He said they do that to harden the carnauba which makes it last longer. I am guessing it sort of brings the carnauba some what back to is original state since its naturally very hard.
