    Hey all,

I wanted to share my thoughts about Griot's Garage quick detailer "Speed Shine". I have used this product over the years here and there, but never really used it as a clay lube until recently when I ran out of my go to clay lube, which is Meguiar's Last Touch (undiluted). I have been impressed with the high level of slippery lubricity in undiluted LT. I have tried ONR at various dilutions, and always was disappointed with it's lubricity. I know many will disagree with me on that, but it is just my opinion. I tried using the Last Touch diluted 1:1 and was not too impressed, but undiluted is very very slippery, and still cheap compared to most other products.

Well, I must say, I am now in love with Griot's Garage Speed Shine even more than Last Touch. It is far and away the most lubricated QD I've ever encountered. It's about twice the "thickness" as last touch. At $30 a gallon, it's a little pricier than LT, but it is worth the extra $$ TO ME. I also really like the Griot's Garage Paint Cleaning Clay as well. It is IMO the softest most pliable clay I've ever used. I have Sonus white and this stuff is softer. It is about the softness of Riccardo Yellow, but is available in the states, and they give you TONS! The bar is about 220 grams! Priced at $20 it's a fantastic clay for light contamination. I've never come across a situation where I needed clay more aggressive, but that is only in my circumstances, so this clay is my go to. I wold like to keep some Clay Magic Red on hand for when I get that sand paper feeling paint, but I haven't had issues with the Griot's clay or Sonus white.

Also want to add, I almost waste clay lube when I clay because I don't want to marr at all if I can help it, so I need something that I can buy in bulk by the gallon. Boutique QD / clay lubes like Pinnacle that come in 16 oz. bottles would last me about 2 panels!!!! hahaha....I use about half a gallon each time I clay!

    Thanks for the review OP

    Half a gallon ain't bad, that's 1.89 L

I use the same amount when I clay

I'm constantly on the trigger of the sprayer when I clay a car

Thanks for the review. I agree 100% about buying lube in gallons or equivelent. 16 oz just isn't cost effective for my needs.

    Great review.

I am indifferent about their clay tho. I like how much you get for the price, but I find it to be too soft. I start with a nice little bar of clay, and by the time im ready to fold it over to a new side, its like 4X wider and paper thin. Im not trying to push very hard, but its some soft stuff!.... good clay tho
