I had to do that with an old farm truck. Before anyone flames me, it was a last ditch effort, and I made sure the dash and any electrical components were properly covered. One other thing, I was working for a used car dealer at the time. I wouldn't have even touched the truck, had it been through my own business.
hah I know how bad farm trucks can get, the last one I drove is completely beyond saving. My friend did this with a Mercedes once...but in his defense it was a really crappy (like filled with bondo and painted with Rustoleum) 1985 300D that has had cooking oil spilled all over the interior and had been used as his beater/parts hauler...and he only did the doors and floor, as far as I know he didn't actually hit the dashboard.
