Ok does anybody out there use a briggs and stratton pressure washer. I have the 6.5hp intek pro and I am having some issues. It will work for a bit and then for no reason that i can find it will choke itself out. I replaced the filters the oil and still I am having issues. It dies like it would if it were low on oil but i know for a fact that the oil level is perfect. If anybody has any ideas or experience with this please let me know!:help:
I dont and never have owned a B&S pressure washer, but what i can tell you is that most times it is the pump that fails in my experience...
is the carberator dirty or loose? checked the spark plug and wire? treat it like a car and try and diagnose anything that comes to mind.
I have this pressure washer and have had it for many years. I replace pumps instead of the whole pressure washer. There are 2 reasons why I have had problems like yours one dirt in the carb which has been mentioned and 2 and this was a freek thing. If the gas cap is to tight it will not let air into the gas tank therfore causing a vaccuum not letting gravity do its job. Or somehow the breather hole got clogged too. I would try to clean it with carb cleaner first. Take the air filter off and blast the heck out of it and if the dosn't work you may have dirt in the needlle it self. Take the bowl off the carb and clean the needle and everything while your there. becarefull putting the bowl back on it sometimes can be tricky what I mean is the o-ring make sure it seats before you tighten it up or you will cut it and then you will have a leak on your hands and getting a o-ring can sometimes be hard...Thats it...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am going to try to clean the carb today. I'll keep you guys posted on whether or not it fixes the problem. Hopefully it does.
