hello everyone ! im new to this site and look forward to learning from all you. my first question is regarding a pressure washer i have, it has 3100 psi. i want to use for the first time a foam cannon (not sure which brand to use yet) and im not really sure if the cannon can stand the power from the pressure washer. am i out of luck here you waht ? should i look into another pressure cleaner with less power ?
also, if any of you can point me in the direction of a great foam cannon i would really appreciate it !!
This is the foam cannon I use from Phil love it. http://www.detailersdomain.com/Uber-Foamer-Canon-Pressure-Washer-Attachment-_p_204.html
yeah, i guess i have to get a new pressure washer damn it. now here is a question for your guys. which in your opinion is better, a foam cannon or a air foam gun ? which foam will benefit the cars clear coat ? with the sale goiong on this week, i can pick a new washer, or an air compressor.
i did some more research and found the air foam gun doesnt work well. so i will go an buy the foam cannon. what psi is your pressure washer ? i want to get tth emost out of the cannon
I have the Clean Force 1800 psi works good but want the one Phil sells. http://www.detailersdomain.com/Kranzle-K-1120T-Cold-Water-Electric-Pressure-Washer_p_446.html
I run the Kranzle pressure washer mentioned above and foam cannon Phil sells. I get foam that clings for 5 minutes, and the ability to foam whatever concoction fits the needs of the particular vehicle. After years of trying to do what the UK guys do, I've got the perfect setup. That being said, there must be a way to turn down the pressure of your current pressure washer. Download an owners manual before you run out and spend $100-$1800 on a new PW... Also remember that the PSI rating is a max output rating and not necessarily an operating figure. Pressure depends on tip size and pattern. My first PW config was a $150 Karcher unit and it worked just fine, but those units just don't last. The low GPM of the Karcher made the foam not as thick... A 2+ GPM setup will produce snow, thick and fluffy... Shave with it! Research the hell out of a proper setup, spend money once, enjoy!
I run Meguire's Hyperwash at 3oz per bottle, and fill with warm water to maintain my own vehicle every other week. I ALMOST don't have to hand wash. Almost, I'm sure weekly would eliminate the need to touch the finish again. This ratio is for a full size pickup, so I'm sure a sedan or hatch could use less solution. I've also added 1oz of 1Z perls, P21S shampoo, CWG, W99, the list goes on and on. The key is the Hyperwash. it leaves an amazing finish, foams up like shaving cream, and cuts through road grime nicely. It's not the only soap ill ever use as its more maintainence strength rather than something to use on a first time customer, hence why I mix with other options and blend to suit. Its important to use a measuring cup (glass Pyrex) so you get the same results each time and don't waste product as its easy to pour in a little extra. A gallon of Hyperwash will go a long way if properly portioned, and you can't beat it for performance and price. I just picked up 2 gallons with all the sales and it came in under $40. Great value. I want to try Adam's soap soon also, I've heard good things about it with a foam cannon.
where do you recomned to buy the hyper wash shampoo ? also, i looking into different washers. unfortunaly the one i have does not have the ability to turn the psi down. im not looikng to spend a crazy amount on a washer, just enough to get one that will make cleaning the car easier and at the same time fun here is one im lookign at in lowes. its 1500 psi. not sure if it will pair nicely with a cannon or not.
