After a finishing polish (106 or Ultrafina) what would the prep be for applying FMJ and can it be used over glazes aside from Menz 115 ?

After removing the residue from polishing with a MF, I would just apply FMJ straight over top. I would however, top FMJ with Collinite b/c the FMJ doesn't seem to last. Here are some examples of what I mean:

To prep for FMJ, I typically use either a 50/50 IPA/distilled, or the Menzerna Top Inspection.

I've understood that the paint needs to be free of the polishing residue to adhear properly.
