Vinyl Wrap Premier Satin Coat; not your traditional transparent vinyl application, this product is an 203 µ(8 Mil) thick satin finish that allows the paint colour underneath to show through, yet adds a very nice satin sheen. Unlike traditional matted vinyl that is typically 38 – 76 µ (1.5 - 3 mils) thick, Satin Coat is 203 µ (8 Mil) thick, just as thick as traditional paint protection film. So not only will this product protect the paint like transparent paint protection film, it will add a satin finish to your existing paint colour.
Probabily cant polish the film. It does seem interested for those that want to matte look there car now without painting it or doing a vinyl wrap. Or maybe those that already have a matte paint job like some of the new MB or Lambos.
There is a company here in so cal that offers this it might be worth a try giving them a call and asking some questions its called Aero Tech. And they call the film you are talking about "frost bite" if its worth it to you ...
