Now that the northeast and our vehicles are coated with the finest in caustic sludge and salt, when using wheel cleaner such as Sonax how many just spray on or do you wet/rinse the wheel first?

i personally wouldnt use sonax in a situation like this because of the salt and road brine. best bet is to blast the wheels first to remove as much crud as possible, then just go at it with another wheel cleaner besides sonax.

plus, i've noticed on a few cars, that using sonax in around or under freezing temps hinders its ability to work as good as it normally does as it starts to freeze to the wheel or at least become thickened by the cold, if that makes sense.

With Sonax you're not supposed to wet the wheel, it's supposed to be dry

You can use Sonax on a wet wheel, but best results will come out of using it on a dry wheel. If the wheels are not heavily soiled, it's a good idea to pre-wet.
