Hey Guys, I have been having some issues with my PC for a little while now but it seems it stopped working all together. When it was working it seemed that the power chord had to be pushed or held in a certain way for the PC to work. It was always different, sometimes up, sometimes down but it was always very sensitive to how the chord was hanging. Finally, just the other day I pulled it out to a wax a car, turned it "on" but no power. I moved the chord around to try to find that right spot but it was nowhere to be found. I opened the machine but I didn't find anything that looked out of place or loose (honestly.. dont exactly know what I should be looking for). Any ideas? quick fix?
Cord is shot. We have an old 7424 at the shop and from what you described, that's what ours did. When I pushed forward, it would work but when I pulled back it would stop. It was just the cord being old and worn out and then it didn't work at all. Just go down to a home improvement store and buy yourself a new cord and you'll be good as new.
There is likely a break in the cord where it enters the machine. Head to home depot and purchase a short extension cord. Cut off the appropriate end and wire it into the polisher.
Thats what I figured, but just now I opened it up and started messing with it. The silver piece that the switch moves up and down on in the housing seems to be loose. If i push it down it will work but after turning it on a off a bunch of times it moves back out. maybe this is still has to do with the cord though? ill probably go replace it anyway and see what I have from there. if it still has issues ill know its that silver piece that the switch moves on.
