I detailed my first Porsche today. I could use a nice car wash with heating, lots of space and karcher and a service room with plenty of space. I focused on the paint, altogether it took me 9 hours without any breaks. I was anxious as I heard that Porsche paints are quite hard. Time to get to work. I entered the car wash and saw a really fat and really dirty butt: Dressed as Dutch soccer team fan I stared to wash the car, having lots of fun, Meg’s NXT shampoo, 2 buckets, Meg’s sponge in play, rims cleaned with Wurth’s red gel and SV Wheel Brush: I clayed the car with Swissvax blue and NXT shampoo/water as a lube, quite a lot of dirt was picked, then taped the car up: Welcome to Swirl City. Also some oxidation and hazing, lots of scratches, some of them to the meat, I assume that some heavy chemistry and automatic wash was going on: I grabbed my new Makita 9227CB and started the correction, I used 3M orange, yellow and blue pad with Extra Fine and Ultrafina SE: Here are some 50/50s, not all of them show the truth, but here they go anyway: Car was rinsed, re-washed and dried, I pulled it into service room to finish it up. I polished the tailpipes, cleaned the rims and dressed tyres with SV Pneu, I also cleaned the headlamps and tail lights with Meg’s PlastX .Paint was given an IPA wipedown and thin layer of SV Onyx was applied by hand: The wax was left to cure for more than an hour, after that it was removed with thick Meg’s towels and finally polished with SV Micropolish: Lowing the exhaust note I pulled the car into the middle of the room to show you the effect: Some close-ups. Check out the fenders, no swirls, just pure gloss: The rest looks fine as well: I made her carry all my equipment, made her wait outside in the cold all day while I was playing around with fat black german one. I got some remorse, so I pulled my DC2 inside and told her that she’s the only one that matters, even if she’s a bit dirty. I guess she appreciated that, cause she took me home: Thank you for watching.
Polish roads can emulate that conditions very often, unfortunately. Thank you for your comment - I'm a huge fan of your work.
