hey guys, I need help making a decision. I'm placing a pretty chunky order soon with eshine. I'm torn in between two options. I've heard good things about both menzerna and poorboys world products. At first I was going to go with this option for polishes: Poorboys World: SSR1 Compound SSR2 Cutting Polish SSR3 Finishing Polish and then finish it off with the Poorboys Polish w/ Sealant Now I don't know whether I should go that route, or go this route: Menzerna: Power Gloss Compound PO106ff Ceramic Clear Coat Polish Cutting Polish Final Polish II Finishing Polish and finished with the Poorboys Polish with Sealant This will be my first polish and it will be on a white 2007 G35S Sedan that has been clayed and washed with Megs Gold Class every week religiously. The car also has a 3M ClearBra, are there any special precautions I should be taking when polishing a car with a ClearBra or just polish over that? Thanks, Brendan
I think you have the Poorboy's World in reverse order. I'd do SSR3 and then follow up with Menzerna Polishes.
I just went with the way detailed image listed it, they had compound, cutting polish, finshing polish, sealant
Both are great products. As for your PB line up, only SSR2.5 and SSR1 are really needed ... the SSR3 is like liquid sandpaper and SSR2 is fairly weak. However, you won't find an easier line of products to use, PB products are very user friendly. Polish with sealant is an exceptional product and it'll clean the paint like no tomorrow and leave the paint very slick. That being said, Menzerna is a professional product designed to be used with a rotary. Many are successful using it via PC but the SSR line is more user friendly. Both with yield better results than anything OTC. As for the clear bra, you don't need to do a multi step detail on it but a little polish and then wax/sealant won't hurt.
Just the answer I was looking for. So the SSR2 is pretty much useless? And for the ClearBra just go over it with SSR2 and the Polish w/ Sealant? One last question, would the Polish w/Sealant be better for longetivity than all of the other Paint Cleaners? I mean compared to: Poorboys Professional Polish Poorboys Polish w/ Carnuba Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish I want something that will give a nice silky smooth feeling that will last. Thanks, Brendan
Everyone will have a different opinion but IMO if you have SSR2.5 and SSR1, the SSR2 isn't needed. The 2.5 / 1 combo will remove a hefty amount of swirls and leave a nice finish. The Polish w/ sealant will last the longest out of the paint cleaners that you listed, but won't last as long as a traditional wax or sealant ... I would say the PwS would last 2 months max.
Menzerna is way better than Poorboy's IMO. No comparison. Powerglos (only if needed) Super Intensive Polish Nano or Micro Polish Then sealant and/or wax of your choice.
You would be better off with the Menzerna line, it just blows poorboys polish out of the water even when used with a pc. Plus the majority of the people on here use it and can help out. I would skip over the minor league polish and just go straght to the big league polish, Menzerna, you will be much happier with the results.
I have both Presta and Menz and the Menz final polish finishes better. The UCCL is very much like SIP and alot cheaper. I would stick with Menz over Poorboys though. I think the finishing qualities are better with the Menz.
My vote goes for Menzerna, oh and as far as polishing the clear bra, I've posted some videos of me polishing clear bra as well, take a look when you get a chance, hopefully it will help you.
FINALLY, took me forever to see what products to use instead of poorboys. Here is what I have come up with. 1. Menzerna Intensive Polish 2. Menzerna Final Polish 3. Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze 4. Chemical Guys M-Seal Pure Sealant Also would be applying it in that order. What do you guys think? Mind you this all goin on a car with slight-mild swirls.
I believe in menzerna polishes, just ordered powergloss to help restore my f-150 I am restoring the paint on. Powergloss 1 pass w/orange 5.5"pad w/rotory 1200rpms awesome gloss. Next p106ff nano w/white 5.5'pad w/rotory 1200rpms even better finish. I"m working on my wife car now (07) Nissan Sentra dark blue, previous owner added some swirls hood White 5.5"pads w/rotory 1200rpm w/nano p106ff oked the finish still has slight swirls but need to step up and will later on, on the front part hood there are nicks all over so, found a place that make touch up paint from 2 oz and up. Pickup the other day so today i started workin on it, had some special painting brushes I used. Cleaned up the chips and started filling them in most of them needed 2 coats then wetsanded w/2500grit paper to level out the paint. Started w/ 4"pads white and p106ffnano menzerna, made one pass and took all the dullness out. I have more to do so Menzerna is my way to go all the way, works w/pc and w/ rotory, sorry about the long post but it's hard to stop.:applause2:
