    Hi guys,

I'm new but have been reading the forums of a couple of weeks. I've got a 98 Ford Escort and 99 Ford Ranger. The Escort is metallic black and has swirls all over it. The Ranger is white and the swirls are there but hard to see. The Ranger has what looks like light oxidation or waterspots if the light at the right angle you can definitely see the spots.

I'm trying to decide on a polish to use. I'll be using a PC because the Flex is just out of my budget right now. I've read alot of product information both on this forum and autogeek, frankly I'm a little overwhelmed for a beginner.

Which polish(s) would you use or recommend given the criteria described above?

Which pad(s) would you pair with the polish(s)?

    Thanks guys

Well this may be odd but I got a question for you....what polishes do you have and what foam pads do you have?

If your going to order products, I would recommend Menzerna...now which Menzerna..mmm...well Intensive Polish or what I like to call 3.02 is a good polish...just my :2cents:

As for pads, you could always go with the traditional Lake Country, or Sonus or Edge or Meg's pads..ect..ect..to be honest it dosen't matter which pads you go with, depending which foam pads you go with will determine how the polish is used..oh and you'll be using the PC that makes a huge difference as you are limited to which pads you can use..most likely you'll go with Lake Country.

Any who, hope this helps you a little.

Thanks, after reading some of the detailing school articles I'm going with Menzerna, it's a little on the spendy side but quality doesn't usually come cheap. I'll probably go with a really light cut to get started, nogwt articles provided a wonderful starting point. The light cut might not give me a total paint correction but any improvement will be welcome. Practice doesn't hurt either. The lake country pads are what I was leaning toward.
