I, as probably some of you, have a lot of swirl marks across my windshield. Although it is not grounds for a replacement of the windshield, the light reflects off of these scratches every now and then while I'm driving at night and bothers me. Is there any way to remove these? I've tried SSR2 on an orange pad with little improvement.

If they are "scratches" no polish in my experience will remove them. Swirls possibly, The best glass polish Ive tested is Duragloss Nu Glass. Two applications may be necessary but it will yank out some tough stuff like acid rain, baked in water spots, etc. Only around $8.
