I have a Nokia e71x that has been scratched up a bit inside of my pocket. I guess I put my keys in there when I was drunk. The scratches aren't deep at all, but it has a really cloudy/gray look on the screen where a lot of microscratches are. I did a quick buff with polish and my finger, but I didn't notice any different. What would you guys suggest doing? It pisses me off. :shakehead:
Maybe an AIO type product like klasse? maybe a filler-heavy glaze? EZ Creme perhaps? Just throwing some suggestions out there. I suppose you could use something like plastX, but dont' know if that's too abrasive on a cell phone screen.
how about some 106fa with a foam app? you could mask off the surrounding areas, just like polishing a car
After trying some compound on my finger, I think it needs a machine perhaps. I'll have to try it with a microfiber.
I had surprisingly good luck removing scratches from the back of my last iPhone with PO203S and a MF towel. Your display plastic might be harder plastic than that, though. I'm pretty obsessive about detailing my laptop.
So iPods have Japanese softness of clear, :applause2:. I have used M205 before, followed up with some RBOE.
just tried power finish with makita and a 50mm backing plate with 50mm wool pad. Great results on the black plastic. I keep a screen protector on the front as a sacrificial barrier.
I wet sanded my screen with 2000grit and just a touch of soapy water. then I polished by hand with mequiars scratchx 2.0 Came out like glass. Perfect. Except the sandpaper removed part of the black paint around the edge of the screen. edit.. and I forgot i used a 3m light cut compund inbetween
best bet is take your PC and put it between your legs to hold it and move the phone, i think i did that with tail lights
