I am pretty sure the clear is on the hard side. I have yet to invest in a PTG. But I am guessing it will be around 130 to 140. I know most new vehicles from Ford, the clearcoats are hard. My 2004 Mustang Gt's is actually very hard, almost as hard as my 2010 Mercedes ML350 clear.
I know you meant the Ford GT. I am still pretty sure its on the hard side but like Phil said ask Dave he would know.
I have a client with one Michael and didn't have any real issues. The one I work on isn't driven a lot and usually a green pad and Power Finish is enough to tidy it up nicely.
This will give you a sorta decent idea. From what I read the CC can be soft in some spots, looked like a lot of green pads being used. KDS detailing Platinum detail - Black Ford GT 400 + pictures - Detailing World http://autopia.org/forum/pro-details-before-after/64880-jeez-its-ford.html This one says... "Pretty tough car to get right this one (as was apparent from the poor detailing job previously). Lots of tiny little bits to polish and lots of taping up and having to work with a very fine polish and soft pad to get the paint to finish down without the usual 'bodyshop esq' buffer trails everywhere. With such soft paint there were unfortunately a few marks that were too deep to remove and there were a fair few little stone 'pepper marks'. The fact that some of the fibres of the cloth were being attracted to the overly static paint didn't help with the finished photos either" Cambridge Autogleam vs Ford GT - Detailing World Looks like the consensus is that it's soft-medium, but I can't comment personally and I'm not sure if each paint color would be the same.
I have done two, and the paint was very nice and finished down great. Medium hardness(Better paint than a Ferrari....) just tight areas that have you playing "Twister" during the job, nice that the clamshells open up and you are able to get into the engine and trunk areas better. And yes I fit into the interior(Just covering this fact before comments from the "Peanut gallery" lol).
Thanks for the feedback guys. Supposed to be getting started about now, but the guy took off to his ranch and took his garage door opener!!!!! highly peeved
Like I told ya I dont think your in for any surprises, should correct well and finish down fine. The best answer would be what you feel when you do your first test spot, see how the finish reacts to what your using, adjust pressure and speed etc. to get the result you want.
