A local guy had this mural painted on the hood of his mustang. I first saw it when it was done and there was a lot of dust and dirt in the clear coat. The painter then sanded and buffed the hood and near ruined it. The clear was so scratched and hazed that the hood looked orange. It had no gloss at all. Here are some before pics, I am shining a 500W Halogen light directly at the paint, you can see how orange it looks. I used my Flex Lightweight Rotary Polisher and a 6.5" Foamed wool pad and Menzerna Power Gloss. I then finished with Menzerna Super Finish and a white pad. Here is the final results, the color is restored and reflection is back! It cost the guy a case of Bud Light Lime
Nice save, not really liking Mural on hoods or cars but none the less I can respect the quality of the painting and saving it from the mistakes of the painter.
Nice job, but that mural looks kinda weak. They could've at least gave the horses a meaner look, like some smoke coming out of their noses, red eyes, something @Pektel: Bud Light lime is alright, much better than that Miller Chill crap. But I still wouldn't buy it personally.
The guy is an older guy and he loves the mural. In the end that is what matters. Bud Lime is good but only a can or two, after that it starts to taste bad, it's a good social beer when I am not really looking to chug a keg
Yeah, I'm more of a beer-flavored beer guy myself. My normal picks are Bud Light, Michelob Marzen, or Fat Tire. Anyways, sorry to thread-jack.
Cool looking hood :thumb: Did you take any pictures showing the entire vehicle Chris? I wonder how the hood looks with the entire vehicle
great job i think the mural would have looked better/meaner with black stallions but like u said its wut he likes that matters the most
Yeah, it would be nice to see the entire car as Nica suggested before forming an opinion, but the correction came out great.
