Well im buying a DSLR and so i thought i would get used to a little editing. This took me like 2 minutes but dont know how good of a start this is. CC is appreciated. This is my first time doing this so im sure its not good but i thought i would share. [/IMG]
Looks good Jordan. That little car is looking great. Love the headlights. I bet they're cheap to replace. What program are you using to edit?? What DSLR did you wind up getting???
Let me ask you this: what were you trying to capture? Likely the wet paint on the yellow vehicle, correct? I like the angle, I like that the colors are popping. The houses in the background are distracting, however. But I do like the dramatic skies!
I ended up getting the Canon XS with 18-55 IS kit lens for now..gonna be getting a nifty fifty soon. As well as a good telephoto lens in the future sometime. This was actually not shot with a DSLR, just my point and shoot but i took the pic and tried to edit it a bit..the world of pic editing is intimidating and i have no idea what im doing haha. p1et, thanks for your advice...i guess i never realized how distracting it could be. Will have to keep this in mind! And Heath im using GIMP.
Yea. Free from Google. I use it as my default pic view but use Photoshop Elements for editing. I just upgrading from v4 to v8 and PSE has adopted the Picaso style menu for quick fixes in the basic menu.
nice photo as previously stated the houses in the back take from the photo a little. You are going to want to raise your aperature to a smaller number or it's smallest number most likely f4.5 or so with the kit lens so it will blur out the background some and allow for the car to pop out and be the main focus of the photo. Other then that though it looks great!
Congrats on your purchase! I tend to agree with P1et a little bit with the distracting background but since the car is yellow, the houses aren't as distracting. Even still, it takes away from the foreground of the photo. I'm not really familiar with GIMP but you might want to look into the Adobe Photoshop family (photo editing software and photo editing programs | Adobe) for some really good software for photo editing. I myself haven't really dived into photo editing too much as I've been focusing on good composition technique instead (I still need a ton of practice). Hope this helps some!
