How do you eliminate this problem? I have teh Rebel Xti. And most of the shots are in AUTO mode.

Go to the menu and reset all settings. If that doesn't work it may need to go to a service center. Sammy's might also lend a hand.

huh..interesting...wish I could help out the only thing that comes to my mind is the white balance? I have mine set to Automatic....but that's just me shooting in the dark though

I'm looking forward to read what others have to say about this though.

Does yours ever come out too pink? Its only a problem in the poorer lighting areas.

I have it set on AUTO too

If you choose one of the program modes does the problem go away?

What type of camera? Can you put up an example?

It could be the lighting in the photo and that you would have to adjust the white balance to compensate.

Often white balance adjustments are not available in AUTO shooting modes.

Pink..um..no...:shead:..I don't think so. I usually have the seeting to the "P" setting though so not sure if that helps

My guess would be that in low light situations you will be better off setting the camera up manualy vs the auto mode.

When you're in a poor light situation, do you still shoot in auto mode, then the flash pops up? Or are you using the external flash?

Get away from auto and switch to Av mate!!!

And post up some examples if you can...

Naturally, photos are going to come out differently when you print because your monitor/computer at home isn't calibrated the same way photo printing places are. Where are you bringing your prints? You can actually have color correction done on your photos if they do any editing themselves (not necessarily color correction, but they should be able to bump up the brightness).

Im printing them at home on a HP 6980. Which is the "real" color? Whats on the screen or whats on the printer?

And whats the BEST photo printer? And I mean absolute best without taking into consideration of price

I don't really know anymore as I haven't been putting much time and research into a quality printer. They can get really pricey mainly due to the ink in the long run but the type of printers i'm talking about use 6-7 different colors rather than your standard CMYK. That being said, there are still affordable printers that use these 6 cartridge setups that still make great prints. You have to take into consideration paper as well because that can also mean the difference between an OK print and a great print. I'll try to get back to you or post up some results in different price ranges.

This link is a bit dated, but the information still stands Printer Primer info.

I'll try to find you more info.

Also, I'm not sure how big you're printing but I want to suggest a couple of places to check out that are recommended by some really good photographers (whom i've met with and gone on shoots with, stunning prints).

    The first:
    West Coast Imaging

    The second:
El-Co Color Labs. Your professional lab for quality digital and optical printing

Great prints, great pricing and probably some of the best paper. The websites should tell you how you should set up your photo for submitting. Turn around time is pretty quick as well as far as I've been told.

P.S. How big are you printing? Just so I know what kind of printers I should be looking at.
