I feel i would like to add to the thread that has just been locked , if this is to be removed then so be it... Ive just come back to the forum after an absence because of work commitments and also to test the lusso ive just been sent and have seen the thread.

Id ike to add this , people obviously know im good friends with Paul and class him as a best friend , there is a reason for this , the reason is because he has given me the time of day to get me to where i class i am now which is a competent detailer , not professional or at a level i could turn around anything handed to me requireing wet sanding or the knowledge of a 1932 bugatti but happy in what ive learnt. Paul has possible spent well over 100 man hours with me in our spare time teaching me and furthuring my knowledge of detailing and what i want from it , its a chill time for both of us and a chance to catch up.

Is Paul the best detailer in the world , hell i have no idea , im sure there are guys who have as much drive and determination as Paul and also get as good results but ive just not met them or seen their work but i have Pauls. I believe over the years Paul has been guided well and made some errors of judgement which is called the learning curve of life but i dont feel his standards have ever dropped from what i class as perfection and everything it entails.

I went with Paul to do the Bugatti and did al the photography and also helped him on the Koenigsegg ccx at the TopGear Show at Earls Court where i also did the photography , i believe the only shoot that Paul has ever hired a professional Photographer being my mate Macca was for the Koenigsegg ccx-R which sadly i couldnt attend due to work commitments and Macca did the shots. Paul does his photography himslef using a Canon Camera same as mine and usm Is lenses like mine not red rings so i would say an even playing field to most people.

I think what im trying to say is that everyone can get where they want with determination and the knowledge to do it , Paul is not the only fantastic detailer in the world , i can name 10 others who i consider fantastic easily its just Paul is more known in the circle due to media and press attention he has received.

I have said all along to Paul that i dont feel he should contribute to any forums at all or answer any questions because they always get derailed somehow by someone so concentrating on his business is more important. I do believe however that he should submit his work for people to see and let them make their own judgement on its quality from what he has displayed mainly because he gets to deatail new supercars and i know for a fact my forums like to see these pics. Regarding doing a write up it took me probably over 15 man hours to do the bugatti thread , knowing Pauls schedule he certainly wouldnt have the time to do it and its my hobby to do so although ive now moved onto video presentations for my details when i get the chance..

If admin feel the need to remove so be it or add it to the original thread , Paul is a friend , i respect him for what he achieves , i thank him for what he has taught me and i defend him because thats what friends do.

    Thanks...

If this is about the message I sent to Paul about asking how to polish windows, then I would like to offer my sincerest apology. I am new to detailing but I am learning at a high rate for my level and polishing windows is something I've never seen or even heard any detailer talk about. So, naturally when I first viewed the video of Paul Dalton polishing the windows on the Bugatti Veyron, I realized that it was a very contemporary way to give windows a shine. And since he's the only one that I've seen polishing windows, I thought I'd ask. Again, if my question exacerbated a problem that has been occurring repetitively, I'd like to say I'm sorry.

However! If its not about my question then I'd just like to say what a nice essay you've written, and I hope you get your message across and that Paul can get back at me when he can.

    Thanks.

Absolutely not , i know nothing of this so dont be offeneded , regarding windows rightly or wrongly i machine them with final finish with 3m waffle pad , then 50/50 ipa water them then apply rain-x or aquapel although i think WAC use a specialist machine to refine the finish.

Well said. Regardless if I think he is the best detailer in the world, his work on a blue Vauxhall was what made me get into detailing so much. Thanks Paul. I do understand the fact that he's extremely busy and that's what makes his detailing threads "lack" specifics, but I do enjoy them. I do feel that product review and description are extremely important in a community type forum so we can all be progressive, but his posts aren't detrimental to anything I've seen nor do they knock anyone's work, so I don't feel the need to bash him. I've found enough information on here about detailing that I don't think he could be hiding that much more (provided he was 'hiding it' of course). The only thing I want to see is a detail of his own car, that would be cool.

Uh, yeah I was just looking around the forum and I found the reason for this thread. I see why.. Ok well listen man, this world consists of marvelous people like Paul Dalton, you, Kobe Bryant, Jeremy Clarkson, etc. But what we forget to take into consideration is that there are 'idiots' on this planet too, who have nothing else to do but be idiots and just don't know how to think and blab on about useless stuff. Don't worry I think natural selection will start taking effect soon.

Oh, and thanks for the polishing tip, really helps!

Marc thank you for sharing your opinion with us.

Having said that regrettably I'm going to close this thread as some member around here are not mature enough to deal with such threads.

Nothing against you or what you have said so please don't take it the wrong way but I feel it's best that this thread be closed.

If anyone has any concerns regarding me closing this thread feel free to contact my self via PM.

I'm currently dealing with all those that caused the previous Paul Dalton thread to go South, so I don't want yet another thread to follow the same path so t be safe it's best to simply close it. Regrettably the world is full of haters
