Hey guys. I'm all about LISTS. I love doing research and I find it helps with any decision making and saves money in the long run...

My question to you and perhaps this can get turned into a sticky at some point... WHAT GAUGES ARE AVAILABLE?

    Please post the MFG/ MODEL/ LINK/ Where you bought/ how much$.

Also responses can included pros and cons or general recommendations.

Thanks! Lets see how this goes!

When it comes to ptg comparisons there is really only two questions, do you need to do composites? And what is your budget?

What do you mean by composites?

Budgetwise... I'd rather see what is available and decide from there. If its worth it, I pay more... I don't know any of the brands and thats why I placed the post.

Plastic, abs, kevlar, carbon fiber, etc...

Gauges that can be used on FE are the cheapest, NFE a little more, and composite a LOT more...

From Orielys I purchased this and I also have the Highline II.

Both gauges work fairly well for their intended purposes... but neither can do composite... for composite you really have to step up your budget... the cheapest I know of is the Desfelko at ~$2k....

For those of you who have a PTG, here's a handy chart. Also good for detailer's to note damage on a car before accepting a job. Wouldn't hurt to back it up with some photos as well.

That's excellent! Going to print that off and use it!

Too bad the customer isn't around after the wash/clay/ipa to go over the checklist with them. A lot can be hidden and not noticed until the surface is ready to polish and all contaminants and fillers have been removed.
