Is paint brush a good tool for Rims, or even for boot/ door shut? Although it has very soft bistle, would it marr paint?

It depends on the bristles. The Swissvax Detail brush and the wheel brush both contain Boar's Hair.

AGREE - If you're thinking of using that for wheels I would be concerned Of the metal wraping scratching the wheel it self....

I bought the Dvd, "How clean is your car" made by mark evans and autoglym. In the show, he use insulation tape to wrap around the metal. Would that work?

i bought a brush like that which is boars hair. there are brushes that are made of 100% boars hair or horse hair. you can wrap the metal with a tape. i wraped mine with a gorilla black tape.

I wonder what is the difference, does it really matters? Boars hair..Horse hair, its expensive. =(

I've never seen that but I don't see why not. If I were to do that I would buy a high quality brush. It's going to cost you more than a SwissVax brush. Good luck and please let us know how it works out for you...:thumb:

You'll be fine if you wrap the metal. I used to use a paint brush all the time with no marring issues.

Since Hum-Benz and jake_b Has the knowledge. I would say thats your green light. That gorilla tape that was mentioned Is great tape and semi water proof too. I was shocked when I bought my first roll though almost 10 bucks w/tax...This could be a good idea that I never thought of...:thumb:

I am using the conventional Black insulation tape that cost me 50 cent a roll. Tape it good once and it is good for ages. I am a broke and budget guy. =P

All I have ever used are paint brushes. The key to paint brushes is to get natural bristle, not synthetic or nylon. The difference? Once you bend the nylon bristles, they stay bent and you may as well bin it. Natural or horsehair retains its shape. I've got brushes I've had for well over a year and they get used a few times a day. The best thing is that as the bristles get shorter, the become perfect for cleaning around lettering and emblems. As mentioned, wrap the metal area with duct tape ( or electrical tape ) to keep from scratching anything. I also have a Brush made from Russian Sable that I use for Bentley interiors. It takes one man 3 days to cut all the wood for a Bentley interior. I don't want to have to replace any of that. Happiness is never having to say you're sorry.
