I have a crew cab truck booked in a few weeks. The owner said the truck use to sit outside a bodyshop with horrible paint ventilation so a lot of overspray has sat on the truck for the last 4-5 years. He's clayed it here and there, but after looking it over all the trim is covered in overspray. Is there anything I can use to get this off or at least try? Or is he SOL? Thanks guys.

Even if your customer has clayed it himself in the past, try clay yourself first. Maybe an aggressive one like Clay Magic red?

If clay doesn't do it, hope isn't lost just yet. You may have to get out some big iron, like some auto body solvent (or similar).

Yeah I will most definitely be claying it myself. I was just wondering in case that didn't work as its been on there for a long time.

    Thanks for the suggestions mate!

Are we talking the rubber trim or chrome trim? If its on rubber, you will need a thinner or mineral sprit as the rubber is porous and the overspray will stick to it like shit to a blankie! The downside is the mineral spirit or thinner will most likely dull the rubber trim. If its chrome or painted plastic, have at it with your clay.

Rubber trim (around windows). Will the thinner/mineral spirits damage the trim other then turning it dull? As I would just coat it with like PB trim restorer or ...

    Thanks mate.

It shouldn't damage it at all. Even lacquer thinner dissipates too fast to do any damage to the rubber trim but I would start with something milder and top it with PB Trim restorer like you said. I have that on sale you know! LOL!
