    Phil,

So everything in the above photographs is included in the link you provided or is it just the polisher? Thanks.

the waiting list is just for the polisher, we still have not decided what we will carry.

I believe we will carry the 15mm and 21mm.

I doubt we will carry the polishes.

Will they both take 5.5" pads or only the 15mm throw one?

It can as the bp from the 15 fits. But it ends up behind the machine shroud. KB checked it out for me.

These units only use big pads or can we swap pads and backing plates?

Talking to Kevin they can be swapped but the shroud of the machine doesnt make it a pretty fit. If you want 5.5 inch pads get the 15. The 21 can be bastardized but I don't think it would be recommended. I just wanted to post that KB said it is possible. Just not a sound choice.

Really excited to try this machine- would definitely look into purchasing the 15......wondering what people are going to say in a comparison with the larger throw.

    Thanks Phil!

Another thing I was going to ask was the power issue. With it having a 500 watt motor vs the Griots garage 850 watt motor that's a huge power difference.

I may have missed this in the previous Rupes threads but what size pads will the 21 work with? Mainly wondering about the Uber 6.25 and 6.5 pads working.

I'm torn about which one I may end up wanting though.

What makes this machine so remarkable?

Edit: Nvm, just read the product info page and it sounds pretty freakin awesome.

PC, GG, Megs have approximately 8mm throw. No it doesn't bog down like the others due to the greater centripetal force created by the larger throw.

Wattage of the motor is not necessarily good to use for a comparison. One was given a more powerful motor to compensate for it's aged engineering, it was designed for sanding wood years ago. The Rupes was designed for quick comfortable correction on paint.

I just posted a comparison between the Rupes and a standard DA. It might help to answer some of your questions.
