I have been reading about this, and had some questions that I was not able to find. Sorry if they sound obvious.

What happens when you get swirls again from washing/etc? Can you correct the paint? If so do you need to re-apply? Do you need to put a sealant/wax over it? What is the difference between this and all the aquartz type sealers?

You can get marring and swirls after the coating is on, but they finish will be a lot more resistant. If you do get swirls back you can polish them out, depending on how much you have to polish depends on if you will have to reapply the coating. It takes a product like M105 or Optimum Hyper Compound to remove the coating.

There is no need to apply a wax or sealant over the top of the coating, and if you do they are going to bond very well anyway. With the properties of Opti Coat, it is hard for anything to bond to the surface, you won't have to claybar as much to remove contaminants and road grime, bird droppings, and bugs come off so much easier with the coating. Also, it is so much easier to dry with the coating on as well.

I don't have any experience with Cquartz, so I can't give you an honest response with this.

I got some marring in the buffing stages with Cquartz, I used menz power finish and green pad and it came right off with very little issue. I reapplied and looked fine, and worked as stated.

Opti coat sounds real enticing. Why would someone use a traditional paint sealer (line Power Lock) instead of this product?

You wouldn't have to use a product like Power Lock if you used Opti Coat. You are going to get years durability out of the coating and a lot less upkeep. If you are the type of person that doesn't want to mess with applying waxes and sealants, this is the product for you. Some people like to apply a wax often and this product would be a waste, but like I said, if you want less upkeep without having to worry about waxing all of the time, this is the way to go. For the money and performance of the product, you can't beat it.

When you get swirls OC can be polished, but if too aggressive then you may strike though and reapplication will be necessary. No sealant or wax is necessary at all. The contamination reppelancy along with the improved hardness will be better protection than any wax or sealant can provide. Some people who want a wax like feel choose to top it with a wax...but it is not required and you will actually see better performance without it. The difference is that OC is a coating like your factory clear that will not "wear off" and is not removed by strong chemicals. All nano coatings/sealants, although long lasting, are only temporary and in my opinion: more difficult to apply since they need to be gone over a couple of times after the application in order to remove residue. There is no residue with OC, just wipe it on and check for thick areas...no follow up necessary.
