I've been wondering about this for a while. If my SUV is just dusty or pollen covered or just has water spots wouldn't it make more sense to spay it down with Opti-Clean instead of using a QD?
Opti-Clean has more lubricating polymers so wouldn't Opti-Clean be a lot safer for the paint? Or would I be better off using ONR? (I just ordered 64 ounces of ONR & a gallon of Opti-Clean. Should be here Tuesday)

That is what I use it for, I keep a bottle in all my cars for bird bombs too. But yes, if the car is dusty ill sometimes wipe it down. However it is not as slick as say a traditional QD, and not sure about the staying power either.

Have you tried any other waterless washes? I was going to get Blackfire but it's more expensive than Opti-Clean.

No........ Ive been pretty happy with opti clean, orginally I was using a watered down ONR which works well too.

Usually I just wash the car, if I have to use it outside of a post wash wipe down, its because a bird took a dump or there is something on a panel..... so I end up wiping down the panel, I have not done an entire car.

I do have a friend that LOVES chemical guys EU waterless wash, and I have seen him use that. Its a very nice product as well.

Opti Clean will out perform a QD for a task like this. It is a spray and wipe car wash. When used carefully with no to little pressure and lots of clean microfibers, you can wash quite a dirty vehicle.
    • Start at the top (least dirty part) and work your way down.
    • Spray Opti Clean liberally on a panel and allow it to work for a few seconds
    • Use a soft, plush microfiber to gently wipe away the solution in a single direction
    • Switch to a clean section of the towel and repeat if necessary until clean (use as many clean towels folded in half twice as you need to, but don't go over panels with a dirt filled section of the towel after wiping the solution away or you may induce marring)
    • Use a second "drying" microfiber to buff off any remaining solution and lightly buff till nothing remains

I use waterless wash all the time. Opti Clean is a great product and more cost friendly than Adams. I first used Adams and loved it but went looking for something that worked just as good but was cheaper in price...Opti Clean.

Don't over concentrate it or you could get Polymer Build-Up.

What does it smell like? Does it smell as good as ONR?

I used it the other day, didn't pay much attention to the smell, but it worked very very well and I am not a fan of waterless washes.

Ditto, this has easily replaced PB S&W for me for the cleaning power and ease of use. Price wise its pretty darn awesome.
