Are you a professional detailer who has a business in detailing, because if not I doubt you can get it. That is why I ordered Cquartz because I cant get Opti-coat since I am enthusiast detailer.

Chris can get you a waiver if you know what you're doing and have access to the proper tools.

Touchy subject. I have made an exception for part timers who's work I have seen but everyone should not expect success with this route. We are trying to establish a national network for OptiCoat application and not just selling it to enthusiast who will only do their personal vehicles. Any of you can feel free to contact me with your situation and goals for the product and I can run it up the ladder.

With that said, we have been working very hard to bring a consumer version to market and it will be ready very soon. I cannot give the specifics yet but you guys will be very pleased with the appearance, durability, and application. We will still be recommending professional prep and warning that it "IS" a permanent coating and not a super sealant that will wear or wash away.

Quick question and sorry if it's a dumb one, but I thought that Opti Coat lasted 1-2 years. Can you define 'lasted'? You mention above that it's permanent and won't wash/wear away. If this is indeed the case, wouldn't it last 'forever' rather than 1-2 years?

Also, I know I've seen this elsewhere but I can't find the particular thread so I'll ask the question here, what's the best way to wash a car that has opti coat? Is it now safe to go through regular car washes? Is it safe to go through touchless washes with all of their harsh chemicals? Is it safe to do a self serve coin op wash and use all their soaps? Is it any safer for me to do my own ONR washes or occasional Opti Clean? In other words, how much protection against swirls does it add to all of these methods?

And finally, do I still have to add wax or sealant? And if I don't 'have' to, can I if I want to? And if I do use a wax or sealant, do I still have to use a paint cleaner or something like Klasse AIO or Poli Seal before applying it? In other words, do I just do like I would do for a non Opti Coat car, or do I do anything different?

Thank you very much and sorry for all of the questions...

You probably heard people saying they've had o on their car for 1-2 years because thats how long it's been out. Truth is that it will be there until you sand or compound it off just like your factory clear. It is permanent. Also we will soon be offering a 5 year conditional warrantee when applied through our ever growing network of qualified installers.

You still need to wash your car correctly and it will Ned be "safe" to go through a wash that does 500 cars a day and NEVER cleans the wash media. Touchless is fine because OptiCoat cannot be removed by solvents or chemicals less powerful than paint stripper. The benefits and that it repels contaminants and water unlike normal clear coat and cures harder than any OEM clear. It also replaces waxing and sealing entirely.

Prior to application the car must be fully prepped…not just an AIO. Any swirls or scratches you leave will be immortalized under the coating.

Thank you so much for the follow-up. This sounds like a great thing. Any idea when that 5-year warranty will come into effect? Also, if I want to wax/seal/QDetc/ can I? Or will it not bond well with the Opti Coat? Did I just waste hundreds of dollars buying products that I no longer need and will have to resell :) ?

    Thank you again!!

I will just add my $.02 here as well. I would not risk letting down your guard with your washing techniqes. Even though it may be able to withstand touchless washes and such, why take the risk? Do you point a loaded gun at your head even though the safety is on? I would hope not. Keep up your good wash techniques and you will be rewarded with an awesome looking finish that repels water and dirt for a long, long time.
