Had to give a quote on this Ferrari today. Your air sickness bags are located in the back of the seat directly in front of you... I have worked on a few 355s, a 360 and most recently a 430 but never one in this condition. In all fairness, the owner just brought the car up from the US and all the damage was done when it arrived. I could use some advice on proceeding with the engine compartment. What should I be careful of as it is going to need a thorough cleaning. I quoted the owner for 4 or 5 days of work. I'll let you know if I get it.
Wow, I can't believe there's a Ferrari in this world that's actually that dirty. From what I can see in your engine pictures, it looks like the only thing you really have to cover are the air filter elements. Just be weary of any electrical components and you'll be ok.
On a car in that kind of shape a good detail can really make a big difference. Except for the needed paint work.
Well if its from his girlfriend going commando, the Ferrari is the least of his worries don't you think?:gross:
That is awesome, at least he's USING it as opposed to other Ferrari owners who just leave it locked up all day long. Another good thing is: you don't have to be worried about screwing anything up!!!
You should forward those pics to Enzo Ferrari see what thinks. :duhersonally I think we should put out a contract on the owner ! :fs:I wish I had a car like that. With disposable income you can trash anything you please I guess.
those filters need to be removed and cleaned anyhow so plugging up the piping would be best while you're in the engine bay. those look like true K&N filters, you can pick up the cleaning kit at any auto parts store. that is, if you get it
wow.. what total disrespect for money and passion for those who made that fine auto. it's a freakin Ferrari. not some chevy cobalt. wtf is this guy thinking.. if i didn't need the money i would tell this guy to go get a life and that you don't do work on cars that don't get taken care of at least in a descent humane way.. he has single handedly destroyed that ferrari.. the one panel for sure needs a respray.. and on a ferrari that is gonna be way up there. how in the world did that panel get so f*(&ed up.. are those wheels and tires too big? how in the world can one be so ignorant to a model of arguably the best car manufacturer in the world? what a loser.
As i stated erlier, this guy just got the car. The original owner did all the damage. I measured the paint today and EVERY panel has been resprayed except ps rear quarter. Good guess on the wheels being too big. The previous owner had tires that were so big if he hit a bump they would hit the fender and do the damage you see. New owner had to put on the tires you see so he could drive it.
