Im wondering if the last columnto the right is showing the percentage of what our taxes would go up under his plan? everyones would go up im assuming? although I share more republican thoughts then democratic, I belive those rich need to be taxed more. Especially movie stars, and other celebrities...that will teach them to keep their cocks in their paints, not screwing around, and then raise price on music/movies, so they can make up for child support...and I don't wanna hear that it's going for the show improvement, because it's not...

As a conservative who pretty much hates Hollywood types, I gotta disagree with you. A number of years ago (Clinton years) they had this great idea of significantly raising the tax on yahts. Now, even though many of the rich are less than genius (think Michael Moore), they hire smart people to advise them on money matters and can make simple cost-benefit analysises. What did they do? They just diverted their recreational dollars away from yahts. The boatbuilding business collapsed. In WA here it was a big deal. Remember, to have money is just another asset. In the old days it was guns, now it's lawyers and ready cash. The only way to really screw the rich would be to physically take their money. If you tax something, you just stifle that activity. And in order to grab that cash so effectively you would need laws that would put all us "regular" guys's stones right in the grinder. The rich know how to lay low during these times and have done it in the past. The taxes don't get the job done (raise revenue, fix ecomomy, etc.) then they have to go after the middle class to fulfill their goals. That's when things get really fun. it's just wouldn't be fair to lower taxes for them, as I mentioned before, money woudn't be spent correctly...for instance, they wouldn't buy Crystal Rock, thy will get stuck with another child support... Maybe there should be a tax cut for detailers...What a bright idea!!!

i just don't understand why if i die i have to give another 18% to the government and capitol gains doubles? isn't that gonna kill investing? also how does raising taxes across the board help us..by giving the government more money to mismanage. this entire real estate crisis is a democratic policy..republicans warned time and time again of this crash happening. and the dems bitch about the war they voted for. they had all the same info to vote to go to war.. even hillary said it is absolutly necessary a month before we invaded iraq..now they just blame bush. last time i checked you needed congress to do things and it's not like there was a 60-40 split in favor of republicans at the time. now we have 2 idiots running. one of which charges 8 dollars for a sign when he has more than 6 times what mccain has to spend. he is gonna spend it all..the truth is the trouble the democrats put us in namely carter starting this whole sub prime loan thing which was a great idea to help lower income families killed us..then clinton put into effect in 1998 an act that basically said any mortage company that doesn't give out a certain percentage of sub prime loans(high risk loans) would be penalized harshly. As of right now their is no estate tax in 2010. So if you just die in 2010 then your property will not be taxed. But I am sure the next president will change that before 2010.
How is he going to lower taxes on 95% of Americans when 40% do NOT pay taxes? Obama wants to raise taxes on bussinesses do you REALLY think that companies will pay them? no they won't they will cut more jobs and pass the cost along to the consumers. I am in favor of eliminating the income tax completely and replacing it with a 23% national sales tax, then EVERYONE will pay taxes(citizen or not). BUT i know thats not going to happen. "spread the wealth" is socialism plain and simple. I have TONS of other problems with Obama but this is about Taxes.
It is pretty clear the democrat's are going to control congress for the next 4 years thanks to the republicans. If McCain wins, he is likely to face an almost veto proof congress. The fact that the republicans did not deliver much reform (tax, social security, tax reform, etc) despite controlling congress and now the American people are making them pay. so is having a tax system such as the one in the us (canada has a similar one) in which people are taxed diffrently depending on there income. Thats taking from those who can and giving to those who need.. dont kid yourself the us is not a true and pure capitalim. I cant think of a single nation that is. Remember that oil costs cheaper in London then it is in New York, yet gasoline (petrol) is more expensive...because they simply pass those big taxes on consumer...they stold our money before and do the same again...that's why this "Big Change" Obama is promising is NOT convicting me...I don't like lowering taxes for rich people (making over $500.000 a year) either... Those should pay more and that's for sure...
