Client brought this in for a detail. He was also interested in shadowing me and learning a few things.

The first day started off with a few basic things that I went over with him. Which was a little slow going but that's ok. He left for class at 3pm and my work started to begin. On day two the customer successfully tackled the skirts and the pillars with the help of his 7424.

The car has been resprayed twice. The bumper was resprayed, the rear fender was resprayed and the driver side door and front fender was blended when repainted.

The issue with the repaint was the clear coat was very very soft. So as expected the area was heavily swirled.

Paint readings were healthy all around from oem to the repainted areas.

Total time teaching and detailing was 18hrs or so. Detailing on my own 14hrs.

    Anyways on to the detail.

    DURING

With the paint correction there were a few things to consider the repainted areas and the oem areas. The hood was hit with Intensive Polish then followed up with PO85rd. The bumper that was repainted was hit with M105 and then M205. The soft repainted and blended areas surrounding the rear fender was hit with a variation of SIP, PF, 106ff and PO85rd polishes.

The lines by the sun reflection are not holograms. Coincidentally planes left a trail of cloud or whatever you call it above. At first it freaked me out but realized they were cloud lines. Anyways on with the rest of the pics.

Nick..nice work on the Bimmer. If the owner has his own DA, hopefully he will wash it properly and keep it looking great. Smart idea to coat it with 476s..at least he's got some great protection on there. Was it just an outside job?

nice looking bimmer , u did great on repainted areas. i like to detail , but when comes to soft clear , fresh respray areas it drives me nuts.
i have the hood respray 1 month ago and i just can`t get it right. i may wait few more months for the 2nd try.

Very nice work on this BMW, good thing it wasn't the dreaded Jet Black.

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Bryan yea I just hate how soft the recent repaints I've done have been. It's an annoyance.

P1et honestly I much prefer oem jet black over soft resprays :)
