Audi B8 S4 White This detail came about when a vehicle enthusiast inquired about a new car prep for his new car. He decided to hold off on the detail until it was closer to winter time. He opted for the exquisite package. In regards to the paint condition it wasn’t that bad considering he had just taken the S4 on a very long road trip. The paint showed no signs of protection. There were swirling presumably detail installed on the paint that I had a hard time capturing however it wasn’t hard to remove. The paint also had hard water marks and etching from bird poop. Alright lets move on to the products and pictures. I started with PF on a blue finishing pad then worked to PO85rd then had to drop it down to ultrafine on the blue finishing pad. Even that was slightly marring the trim. I had to finish up with a hand polish using ultrafina and a foam applicator pad. The pics below are the after products of polishing. I apologize for not posting before as the camera had a very hard time capturing defects on the paint. Please enjoy the afters. AFTERS Wheels squeaky clean and ready for winter storage. Time worked: 7 hours Thanks for looking.
You were able to carry out a wash, clay, 2 stage correction, and LSP in 7 hours? What's your secret? It takes me way longer than that. The Audi looks awesome, btw
One step correction Pektel Not two stage. The entire car was hit with Sonus White and Power Finish. Only the Door Pillar received 3 hits of polish Cheers, Nick
I wish I had Oompa Loompas. For some weird reason I can't eat when I detail. I only drink juice lol. I lose my rhythm when I stop. If I get tired doing a particular task I switch between a less physically exhausting task like wiping down the door sills or putting on a couple layers or tire dressing
Looks great! Power Finish on lighter color cars is awesome, no need for a final polish unless your just feeling OCD :applause2: Great job as always
That is some very nice work! Was the lady in the background the owner? If so, nice taste in cars she has!
I hear you. i was out all day yesterday cleaning the interiors of my cars and wheels and washing and before i knew it i had been out there just about all day and forgot to eat. the car looks great for sure.
Very nice work! I see you use both the Cockpit premium and 303 protectant on the interior detail. I use the cockpit premium now, but did use the 303 protectant back in the day, and thought about going back to it. Do you feel one is better suited to certain interior parts than the other? Just curious. Thanks!
Thanks for the positive comments guys. The car was a delight to detail. I appreciate that you took the time to look through it I did however have issues with wiping off the RainX. Well not wiping per say but catching the little hazing that was left. The client had to let me know there was still hazing left from the RainX which I promptly looked after. I've noticed my eyes aren't picking up defects on windows like they use to. Does anyone else have that issue when only focusing on the paint for a long period of time? I'm going to start trying to look away from paint once in a while at far objects to keep my eyes sharp. I do that when I work on my comp for long periods of time so hopefully it'll work in the respect of detailing as well. musc thanks for the comments. In terms of CP and 303, I use 303 aerospace for pedals, plastic or rubber floor mats, door sill areas (plastic and rubber), trunk area and the for the dash, trims on the doors I use cockpit premium. CP does have a more matte look but IMO 303 has a slightly deeper look and seems to last longer on high traffic areas like Pedals, Door Sills, Interior Door handles, etc. I hope that helps. Cheers, Nick
