    Hey everyone,

I completed this detail yesterday and my client requested that he would like to see the write-up for his car as soon as possible. Since I don't like turning down special requests and since he was so very nice I kindly obliged. I also wanted to thank the client for his hospitality and for having such a large place to work out of. My truck looked so tiny in his driveway.

In any case to the detail. The A5 is such a gorgeous car unfortunately it had signs troubled maintenance and dealership prep issues. I went into the detail hoping that it would only need light polishing with a white polishing pad and maybe Menzerna Intensive Polish however that quickly went out the window when I had to go through about 3 passes to get the swirls I wanted to get remove. I settled on Menzerna Power Finish and I am sure you will agree it was the way to go for this particular one step polish.

    BEFORES

The wheels were addressed first by first rinsing them down then working on one wheel at a time I used Chemical Guys Wheel Ge. The gel was left to sit for about 20 secondsl and the appropriate tools were used to agitate the solution.

I pretreated the entire vehicle with Optimum No Rinse before the initial rinse using a sprayer. After pretreatment of ONR I addressed the particular grimy areas with 1z Blitz. The wheel wells were particularly dirty and 1Z Blitz were used to break things down.

    AFTER WASH

You'll notice in the after wash pictures there is quite a bit of swirling. Nothing incredibly deep but very noticeable. The client pointed out the clear bra as being one of the largest annoyance and we made sure we looked after that problem.

    Swirly Clear Bra. Yuck!

    AFTER POLISHING BEFORE LSP

So below are the after polishing shots. I apologize of some polishing residue in the shots. I missed a few spots with IPA.

Also I apologize for not having sun shots. It ended up being a fairly gloomy and rainy day however the 3M Sun Gun will hopefully provide with a good idea as how the paint will show under the sun.

Remember the Clearbra? I spent a little more time on the clear bra. I used Power Finish with about 3 passes to get it perfect. The metabo was used at 1000-1100 rpms to massage the swirls out.

Thanks ! I don't think the clear was extremely hard or maybe I lucked out with lighter swirls :) I wish all my swirls to be like that lol.

    THanks Denzil!

    THanks p1et :)

    Hey Carlos ! Thanks !

Richy! Thanks :) but your alliteration could use a little more work. Yea I have to replenish my bottle of PF but it really does go a long way once the pad is primed. I think I'm going to pick up the 50mm 1.4 lens, I tried out my friends and simply love the sharpness. Thanks for the early xmas present Richy. I look forward to it in the mail.

    Thanks Ken!

Ola Bryan! Thanks for checking out the write up :) Yea I too love the stance. The design lines totally remind me of the R8. Drool :)

    Thanks Chas !
