Hey everyone, I haven't had much time to post up extensive details but I thought you may like this short post. It's an Black 2008 RS4. There is not much to say. I was just asked to clay and wax her and here she is. So I took my time to clay and wax. Oh the only thing mentioning is that I used Victorias Red Concours Wax. Time worked: 3 Hours
Nice job on a sweet ride! The Vics Red wasn't a huge PITA to remove after leaving it for so long? I usually do two panels with Vics and remove after that cuz it's a PITA to remove once set...
lol it wasn't too bad to remove the red wax. I tried to work as quickly as possible around the vehicle. How do I like vics? I like the look it produces. I haven't tested it's longevity. I don't like how the red smears only the MF towel when i buff off
I'm a huge fan of Vic red, it's a great wax :cheerl: I too apply wax quite thick but removal isn't so bad, it's just going to require a few extra micro fiber towels to buff the wax off :thumb: um...looking at this picture, it looks like application was not even...I know that pictures don't always capture what's really there in front of you but: when applying wax by hand it's always important to apply an even coat...er..when ever applying wax it's good to apply evenly. Any who by no means am I trying to be disrespectful or rude or anything like that, just pointing it out that's all. By the way nice looking vehicle eace:
lol no worries Carlos. I know you mean no disrespect and I definitely appreciate the input. When I applied it I thought I had missed a spot after taking the picture but when I went back to it there was coverage. That area may not have as much wax coverage. I'll keep an eye out next time.
Well glad you didn't take it the wrong way, no harm intended. When I apply by hand I apply thick, extremely thick..kinda like you did here: Like I said though, pictures don't always tell the full story eace:
Yes totally. I love thick but I sometimes forget which wax i'm using and it's a pain in the rear to get off lol. Your right the key is tons of MF for a thick application. I went through so many. They were all red after the buff off. BTW i expect you to let me know if I missed something. No one is ever going to perfect and sometimes things are missed that's why I like a second or third set of eyes to check it out. After staring and looking for imperfections with a bright enough light, your eyes plays tricks on you lol.
Aint that the truth  Constructive/respectful criticism is always welcomed and appreciated, I know I appreciate it as I'm sure most of the members here do too :thumb:
Speaking of lights do you worry about vision issues because we all are looking for imperfections sometimes during peak times of the day when the sun is shining it's brightest?
Well it's always ideal to take the vehicle outside during a nice sunny day, but around here sunny days don't happen so often as we'd like...so what I've done is I've installed several T8's High Output lights in my garage..that and my 3M Sun Gun helps me out...now all the amount of lights can't add up to the intensity of the Sun but with the amount I have I feel confident with the inspection I can catch any swirls/scratch I may have missed. But like I said it's very difficult to compare indoor lights to the sun, it's always best to use the sun. Just my :2cents: hope it helps.
so you waxed right after Clay? doesnt clay sctach the paint? is poilishing nessary after clay? BTW i have a brand new Vic Red sitting in my locker, im goign to use it next time i wash my car,
