Hi guys, I'm new to detailing and been here for a few weeks, reading up and learning from you pros... After spending lots of money building up my detailing collection so far, I am finally ready for the final step, which is my LSP. I have tried a couple waxes and sealants in the past, and recently a couple nuba waxes. I don't know if this matters, but my car is yellow. It is a new paintjob so it's mostly flawless. I've gone through it with Menzerna's line of products, with a 7424xp to perfect it after waiting an agonizing curing period. Menzerna Power Gloss Compound, then Power Finish PO203, and finished with Super Finish PO106FA. Thanks to Phil @ detailer's domain for the majority of my supplies. The PO106 finishes nice enough to leave it as-is, but I would like *some* protection on it My car is a total garage queen. It lives in the garage and keeping it clean is my hobby. I drive it maybe once a weekend, if I'm lucky. It will never see rain unless it's unexpected. I want it to always look its best. So durability of the LSP isn't a big factor for me. What I would like is something that has the best look for a yellow car, if the color really makes a difference in which product to use. I have tried the following: Finish First P21s Concours Look P21s 100% Carnauba Adam's Brilliant Glaze Adam's Americana I am tempted to try a sealant such as Menzerna's Power Lock, followed by a glaze topping or another nuba wax. I really want to try the SV Concorso but I'm still hesitant due to the high price. I'd be interested to hear any suggestions you guys may have that can help me make a decision. Thanks for your help!
On yellow, I'd go for Menz Powerlock. Let it cure for a day or two and then look how deep and wet it looks.
+1 for Powerlock. It's a very good sealant. I wouldn't recommend starting out with an expensive wax. There's plenty of inexpensive waxes that are worth trying out. Poorboy's White Red and Blue waxes Collinite etc...
