Last weekend I cleaned my mom's 2001 Expedition with CWC (still very good stuff) and put on a coat of 845(beading on this stuff is incredible, def one of my favorite waxes). This week, I got Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss, and I'm completely blown away. Granted the car had wax on it this time and not last time, it was so smooth on the paint it was unbelievable. Coupled with a Uber sponge, which kicks too, and it seems like the best maintaining combination for paint. I've yet to try CWC on waxed paint with an Uber, but I'm very impressed with Ultra Gloss. The smell is fantastic. I just ordered a gallon of CWC before I tried UG because it's a great soap and well lubricated, and because it has stripping capabilities. It also is a tad more cost effective, but for a specifically maintenance soap, UG is awesome. I used about 3-4 oz for about 1.5 gallons of water, and I had a LOT of solution left over, so I'll be using it more cost effectively next time with less solution. After the free flowing water method, I used my new Detailer's Domain waffle weave. I was skeptical after having a Cobra waffle weave, and again DD has met my expectations and then some. After one smooth and gentle swipe, all the remaining water was completely removed. There was instantly an ever so slight haze, which evaporated in about a second or two. This thing rocks! I might be ordering another one soon. 2 can defintely dry anything you come into contact with. I also used Super Green Stuff and Super Foam. SF puts out a healthy amount of foam and seems to have some pretty good clinging and cleaning power. I didn't get a great chance to try out SGS because my tires were basically clean from last week, but it stripped all the remaining tire dressing and pulled some extra grime out at ~3:1. I haven't been able to really try them out, but right now I'm impressed. So in short, Majestic Solutions A+, Detailer's Domain A (A+ is dependant upon our possible NJ meet)
Since SGS is a pretty watery product... I'm thinking you can mix some super foam in there with your spray bottles too for one sticky, heavy cleaning solution! I am definitely about to order some more stuff now hahaha
I plan on making some strange concoctions. I will be adding a bit of SGS to my foam cannon along with SF for a tad more stripping power.
Glad you liked everything and I love all the Majestic products you tried! Ultra Gloss is like washing your car with a QD, with the shine it leaves behind.
It leaves behind something? Isn't that what people hate about CWG? Or just b/c they wanted to just use that as a "stripper." Don't mean to whore your thread.
Well CWG is a great maintenance soap, but people were using it to strip because it has the potential to be very strong if diluted right. CWC is better for predetail.
I agree with you on the 845 stuff, love the beading it gives! I enjoyed driving through the rain today to see just how awesome it was!
mmm Cherry coke....I still have not got around to getting me a bottle...haha...I need to make a trip down there sometime next week to have a look around.
smells like the best fruitpunch in the world to me. i just used it today and im very impressed with it. very very slick.
I will try this combo (cwc before claying/845) this weekend on a vehicle I got lined up. I have noticed that the 845 is really sensitive to paint cleanliness. My CWC arrived today ... can't wait to try it out!!:headbang:
