Hello all. Lance here shouting out from Memphis, TN! Hello all! I have adopted a new detail studio and need Feed back please! The facility includes an office, indoor washbay, and detail studio. The studio is climate-controlled, loaded with twenty-five T5 lights, and has a central vac/compressed air system. It's fully outfitted let me tell ya. So my question is: What would you do if this was your detail shop? How would you set it up? Equipment and product storage cabinets? Racks? [*]Would you assign certain areas for certain tasks (Paint Correction, Interior station, etc)? [*]Would you alter the current lighting fixture setup? Angle the wall lights slightly down to keep from blinding you? Move any of the wall lights to the ceiling? Drop the ceiling lights down a few feet? [*]Would you paint the floor? White? Epoxy? Dream away and envision how you would operate a detail business in this 4000sq ft shop. I'm excited to get some ideas and input from the wonderful community here!! Thanks! -Lance
Lance that shop looks great! The shop looks great. Depending on the work you will be doing maybe a lift? Drains?
Thanks Phil. You and DD helped me start 5+ years ago! I wish there was at least one drain in the studio. I do have a wash bay for prepping cars: And while a mid-rise lift would be cool, with that kind of money I'd rather be decked out with the entire Rupes polisher line first The warehouse owner is going to repaint the white walls and fix all the lights and then try to satisfy any of my needs before I fully move in. I was thinking get the floor repainted with a protective gloss coating. Then just get a nice storage setup for products, pads, and MFs.
