HD ADAPT with Adaptive Abrasive Technology

    Multi-Surface Adaptive Compounding Polish
Introducing the industry’s 1st compounding polish with Adaptive Abrasive Technology (AAT). HD ADAPT uses specially engineered micro abrasives that effortlessly adapt to correct, polish and restore perfection to virtually any hard surface such as modern base-coat clear-coat paint systems, older single stage lacquer paint, non-plated metals, glass, Lexan, gelcoat & plastic. Designed to produce exceptional results when used with your choice of machine polisher such as rotary, dual action and/or forced rotation. Can be used with foam, wool or microfiber correction and polishing pads.

HD ADAPT uses a combination of unique abrasive technologies that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the buffing cycle by using both chemical and mechanical compounds that allows the user to quickly level defects while at the same time producing excellent gloss & clarity to virtually any surface. This specialized lubricant and cutting system enables the user to adapt to any type of polishing machine or polishing pad to not only quickly level away defects, but also produce a fine polished result.

HD ADAPT’s unique abrasives are designed to quickly level away heavy defects while leaving little to no residual micro-marring in one easy step. Rest assured knowing that HD ADAPT (when used as directed) will not fill or conceal your true finish. Easily wipes from the surface while not creating any troublesome dust, buildup or oily mess behind. Perfect choice for mobile detailers, paint correction experts, body shops, precious metal workers, car washes, dealerships and/or enthusiast car care aficionados who prefer to keep their product choices simplified. Restore and polish automotive paint, boats, aircraft, RVs, aluminum, brass, gold, silver, headlights, cymbals and much more. VOC compliant formula will not produce any harmful airborne particles that will contaminate sensitive paint shops or the earth’s environment. Safe for fresh paint. Contains no wax, silicone or fillers.

    Directions:
Shake Well Before Use. Use the foam, wool or microfiber pad of your choice tailoring your pad selection to the desired task. Apply 6-8 pea sized drops to the pad for initial priming and work within a 2’ by 2’ area. Use moderate to firm pressure, letting the machine, pad and HD ADAPT do all the hard work. For optimal results use very slow arm movement to allow HD APAPT to chemically and mechanically act with the surface. Use cross-hatched passes (up & down / side to side) overlapping each pass by approximately 50%. Repeat as necessary. To reach optimal gloss and defect-free finish, follow-up with a finishing pad as needed. After each pass, clean pads with compressed air, pad spur or your choice of cleaning tool. Follow up with 3-4 drops for additional passes cleaning your pad after each pass. Swap out to fresh pads often.

    Speed:
**Optimal Rotary Buffer range of 1000-1800 RPM.
**Dual Action Orbital between 4500-6000 OPM.

Here is a video that Barry Theal did right after the 1st beta version of ADAPT was tested. (before we came up with the name ADAPT :) )

Barry shows how quick and easy ADAPT is at not just tackling heavy sanding scratches, but also with finishing flawlessly. :applause:

    Thanks Richy! I believe it's a Breitling. :)

I wish that was my department!

Kinda, but (and that's a huge BUT) NO. Completely different abrasive system all together although both products are designed to cut and polish. This is totally new and uses a combination of non-diminishing and chemical abrasives which is unlike anything else on the market. I've seen ADAPT do some pretty crazy/interesting things that is untypical of anything I've yet to work with. After trying ADAPT, it might very well be the 1st product you reach for each project.

Here's a video that Bryan Burnworth put together:

Melbourne red M3 HD adapt rupes 21 Meg's cutting mf. I split up half the trunk into two sections. One "pass" per section. Approx 90 seconds on each section. Slow steady pressure. Straight IPA wipe x5.

Playing the devil's advocate here, I have a few concerns with Barry's test. One, he's using the most up to date DA polishing combo available with the Rupes and B&S cutting disc. How many potential buyers of this product are using these? Probably not many. Maybe redo the test with a PC or maybe a GG6 as that is what most DA users have. Secondly, he used a crap load of polish to remove the holograms on the front part of the hood. I can see the extra polish to remove the sanding marks, but not holograms. Thirdly, what was the grit of the sandpaper he used? We already have a plethora of polishes that will remove 2-3000 grit sanding marks and finish down very well.

Agreed, After the video posted on Autopia, I replied/referred to how much of that result should be credited to the Rupes and B&S MF cutting pad combo and not just 'ADAPT' but no real answer. Aside from the other non paint surfaces, it doesn't sound much too different from other so called compounding polishes that I currently have i.e. Menzerna Power Finish / Carpro FIXER.

I do own and use HD polish and I like it. IMO polish is good so i'll keep any other opinions until I see some thorough reviews or try some for myself.

Would you like to add something constructive to the conversation Paul? I said arguably as the people I have talked to have experienced better cutting with it than the other mf discs they are using. If you feel this is incorrect, by all means say something.

Here are some 50/50 pics I took on a 2009 Black Sapphire Metallic M5 (not the softest paint) using Adapt on the Rupes 21 and Megs MF Finishing pads. Did I mention there was ZERO dust with this combo?

I was just involved with doing a black Chevy truck using HD Adapt.Doing a test spot on the hood using a B&S cutting pad w/Rupes 21 the hood looked great. We then decided to try a Meguiars mf cutting pad. Yikes !! Bad hazing. Never would have guessed the Megs would have had that much more cut. The B&S are fantastic pads that require less cleaning plus being tuff as nails but they do not have quite the cut of the Megs. I have used the Megs since they were introduced but the B&S are now finding a space on my shelf saving the Megs for extra heavy cut.

PS: I know that comment wasn't directed to me but I wanted to share my use with both HD Adapt and the B&S vs Megs mf.

For the guys who have the Adapt, could you do a 50/50 using a PC or Griots with your choice of pad with Adapt on one side and the same machine/pad with FG400 or Megs 101/105 on the other?
