After washing and drying the surface; use Plexus® Plastic Cleaner to clean and protect the surface. It will seal the tint material and keep it clean. It contains anti-static so it repels the dust and dirt normally attracted to plastic.

It also leaves an invisible, micro-thin layer of protection, sealing the porous surface, making it more resistant to dirt, dust and other contaminants. Regular use will help prevent crazing, yellowing and oxidation which diminishes the plastic's lustre, and appearance, non-streaking, and it dries crystal clear.
Plastic polish will not remove clarity defects that are within the plastic but it will remove external/surface scratching and oxidation (yellowing). Prior to application of a plastic polish ensure that the surface is clean and free from dust particles by washing with a soft cloth and warm water.

    Surface Scratches

Use a plastic polish that is safe for all types of clear and coloured (polycarbonate) type plastics i.e. Lexan, Perspex, Lucite and most clear acrylics - Novus 1 2 3
Novus 1 - gently cleans all plastics without scratching, leaves a lustrous shine that resists fogging, repels dust, and eliminates static.
Novus 2 - removes fine scratches, haziness, and abrasions from most plastics (exceptional for removing scratches from Plexiglas). Use repeatedly and restore faded and discoloured plastics.
Novus 3 -removes heavy scratches and abrasions from most acrylic surfaces.

    domino Welcome to Detailing

my friend had a lexus sc with the el guage cluster so it showed marring easy

we pulled the cluster out and used megs plastx on a 4" white LC CCS, then followed up plexus by hand app

the plastx works quite well, if you really work it in until clear it wont leave any micro marring

    :agree:

Novus is some great stuff. I have used it on those convertible tops that have plastic windows.

I use Menzerna po85rd or po87mc on the clear plastic in the gauge clusters, both easily clear most marring after 1 or 2 hits depending on how bad the plastic is marred and leave a crystal clear finish. I use a yellow wax applicator by hand but really, any decent finishing polish or dedicated plastic polish will work well.

plast-x with a terry towel first (more bite and easy to control) and then another Plast-X pass with a yellow applicator. Take your time because it doesn't work fast. I did this last year on my wife's SUV and it completely remove some cloudiness (courtesy of Car Sense in PA) from the speedometer lenses.

I did some work on one car's instrument cluster lens. I used Meg's PlastX and finished with Mothers Plastic Polish (did not seem to be as aggressive as PlastX but finished better than PlastX) with the technique I used. I was not satisfied so I just bought a new one (under $30) but guess what...it had scratches too.

I did some practicing on a clear CD case and was doing side by side tests using Meg's and Mothers.
