Ok, so I started doing a convertible and figured it wouldn't be that tough... I know it has a hard clear, but after doing that BMW M3 and it's stone clear coat, this would be easier since I was already seasoned.

Well, this was not the case... I tried out M105 with yellow MPT pad and you could work about a 5"x5" area before it was done. So I then tried PGC with a yellow MPT pad and it didn't seem to do squat.

So I went home and grabbed my purple foam pad and thought I would have greater success with the M105, put 3 dots on the paint and started out at speed 2 and picked up the polish, worked it in for a couple of secs and then onto speed 6 of the flex, again this stuff was done before it started... so by know I'm really pissed.

So I cleaned the pad and went back with PGC, flex on speed 6 and the foamed wool pad. After doing the whole car I started going back with SIP and an orange pad and this is where it gets bad.... it was not removing the micro marring from the wool pad.... having to do like 3x before any visible results.

What else can I do with what I have?

I have the flex, all the menz polishes, the M105 and all the LC pads. Please HELP!!!

For the M105, put it on the paint like you did, put the Flex down on the paint with the speed already on 6. Then turn the machine on and work it in.

Instead of doing SIP with orange, maybe try M105 with orange, green, or white. Then probably go over that with SIP and green or SIP and white.

What about SIP on yellow? I really hate the orange pad

I had a similar problem with a subaru we did. We ended up using powergloss and a menzerna cutting pad to get rid of the micromarring...

If you used PBC and a cutting pad, did that cause anymore marring??

HHMMM... I'll try it again, but first impressions are key for me and this didn't give me a very good first impression. I'll be heading back to the car next saturday

I put a strip about on the vehicle then grab it with the pad, I have a picture of how I put the M105 on the paint if you need a reference. I get PG to finish down hologram free with a wool pad, I dont use it with a foam pad. But it does sound like you are your worse enemy, with the process you are using it does seem like you are inducing more work for yourself and also not enough of the M105 to work with, but it also flashes quickly.

if you would, show me a pic of how much 105 you use and how much of an area you work it with

Powergloss works best with a wool pad and I sent you a pm with the picture.
