Need help soft convertible top

I just finished working on 03 bmw z4 soft top convertible
customer asked me to clean and protect so i did use raggtopp cleaner and protectant
Next day she call me and saying there are some kind of
zig zag patterns on her soft top and i took few pictures but not good enough show.
Looks like somebody used finger scratch them long ago
I mean they are suppose to be black but now it is kind of gray some spots
that soft top never clean and protect before
so does it need dye?

 

What exactly did you do and use to clean, this top ? I mean what tool/s did you use to clean the top ?

Do you remember the pattern you followed when you cleaned the top ? Did you go in circular motions, straight back and forth motions, etc..?

Did you notice these patterns in the top before you cleaned it? Did you notice these marks in the top after you cleaned it and dried it thoroughly before applying the Protectant ?

How much dirt came out of the top when you cleaned it and rinsed it? Did you clean it more than one time, to insure that you got all the embedded dirt out of the top fibers?

Have done many of these exact tops on a lot of Z3's and Z4's, and Mini Coopers. They all use the same fabric.

Typically on a top that is in good condition and has not been destroyed by the sun, the Raggtop products (which are the absolute best products you can use) will clean the top perfectly, and the spray on Protectant, if applied in a few light coats, will dry and turn the top a dark, rich, color, that beads water like crazy when dried..

I used adams carpet and upholstery cleaner with horse hair brush
i did straight pattern back and forth
there was alot of dirt came out i cleaned it 3 times
before i clean it i didnt notice anything beside fade spots
i used leaf blower to dry it
i dont know what am i suppose to do...

 

I agree with Dan Raggtop products are the best use them all the time.
