I have a detail coming up and I need some advice on removing Georgia clay from the wheel wells and undercarraige and engine bay. from previous washes on this car I know it is a PITA to clean but is there anything that makes it easier? I can remove the majority of it, but it always seems to leave a reddish color on the panel. :help::shead:

Do you have a pressure washer?

If you have a Home Depot around I'd go buy a gallon of Zep Citrus Degreaser and go to town!

    Yeah i got a PW.

Is that a suggestion or do you have experience with the results?

Have you tried a paint safe APC? What's in your lineup?

    What is with the hostility?

If you have access to a pressure washer that would be my go to... I'd try and rinse as much of the clay off as possible, then I would liberally soak the panels in either APC or a mild degreaser like Zep Citrus ($10/gallon) after maybe 5 minutes of dwell time I would rerinse. If the color remains, I would resoak in APC or degreaser and then agitate...

If you are working on paint I would probably grab a long nap washmit, on under cairaige or plastics I'd grab a semi stiff bristle brush like the latiner ones that Phil sells...

sorry man no hostility intended. I was just asking if you had used it on clay with good results, or if you just knew it worked good on everything else.

Seems I just need some good stiff brushes and some elbox grease. I have some paint safe APC but no clay on the paint. Just on the plastic in wheel wells and the shocks, engine plastic etc...

    Thanks for the help...
