So I just bought a 2010 GTR with 7k on her. Car is white and has a decent amount of oragnge peel. I am totally green on detailing and have always just washed and waxed my cars by hand. I have done some reading here on this great site, but could use some direction as there is an overhwelming amount of information on this site, and I am left sitting here not knowing where to start or what to buy. Can some of the more exsperinced guys tell me what polish and wax they would recomend as well as what DA would be a good selection for a newbie. Also what pads are for what process ? I hope I dont get ripped apart to much, I know how forums can be and I am just looking for some help from some good detailiors. The car is scedualed to be in a magzine next month and I want it looking as sharp as possible. Thanks for all the help in advance.
Griots DA with 5 inch backing plate and 5.5 pads is a good start. A nice selection of foam pads with some MF cutting pads. Meg's D300 is a user friendly compound, Menzerna SF 4500 is a nice finishing polish, Menzerna Fast Gloss 400 is also a nice compound and Sonax Perferct Finish is also a nice finishing polish. Go with a coating for protection on paint and wheels or checkout Sonax Polymer Net Shield and Brilliant Shine Detailer.

As a newb myself I've had great results with what I have used thus far which is pretty much what meticulous told you I used the griots with a meguiars MF disc and fg400, and sonax PF with blue or green pads. I'm guessing the GTR is garaged and probably not a dd ( although I could be wrong depending on where you live ) so you are going to want a nice carnuba to add the deep gloss. And I'd pick up the 1z interior kit as I love that as well. Your going to want some iron out or iron x for white as well as claying or using a nanoskin.
