    hey guys,

I have a cheap P&S that imo takes awesome pictures for the price I got it for which was free. It's an HP Photosmart M517 and it feels pretty cheap and imo it is but I think it does the job well. I'm looking to get a full sized tripod from London Drugs only because I can get a discount. I went in and looked at one and later went on the site and found a few others. I need help picking, I don't know whats good and whats bad so any info is awesome! Here are the ones I'm considering. I'm listing them in the order I'm thinking of getting. Not looking to spend much.

The link doesn't seem to be working for me either

I purchased a Manfrotto try pod and I couldn't be happier, such a great tripod, sturdy and well built. Price wise I honestly didn't think it was too bad but my wife sure thought the opposite of me  Before the Manfrotto, I purchased a cheap tripod (spent about $100) and I broke it in a week...not to mention the wind could tip it over so I went back and upgraded to the Manfrotto :thumb:

I posted some pictures of the tripod here:

weird, I'll try fixing them. I'm not looking to spend that much on a tripod. All I have is a simple P&S, I just want better pictures. I'm going to my local XS Cargo and picking something up there instead. Somebody pointed out some and they have some dirt cheap ones. Thanks though.

I'm no professional photographer but to me a tripod is a tripod. I have no idea how fancy you can get with tripods really.

Out of all the ones that you posted. Number two seems to be the one I like the most...:thumb:

Tripods cn get quite fancy. For me weight and stability are the keys. I like the Induro tripods.

To the OP the Induro AB0 Adventure Series Tripod Kit with Tripod, Head and Case is available from vistek.ca. A little more than the ones you are looking at, but certainly great features. FWIW I have one of their Carbon 8x tripods and just love it. Gitzo, Manfrotto, Bogen and many of the others have nice tripods, I just found the Induro to provide similar features for less money.

The second one is the one I saw in person. Theres a store called XScargo here in BC and all throughout Canada. Don't know if they're up in the states, but they buy a lot from companies that go out of business, and refurbished products. So they have pretty cheap prices. I'm going to see if they have anything useful for detailing. But here are the ones they carry and list online.

    - F362 - 49 Inch Lightweight Tripod - Photo - Accessories

    Krafttech - 948248 - 60 Inch Tripod - Photo - Accessories

    - TP2400 - 61" Deluxe Lightweight Tripod - Photo - Accessories

The third one looks like the most substantial, but without seeing them in person it is hard to tell. I guess for the money you can just chuck any of those if they break. Of course if it breaks with your camera on it then you will kick yourself for not buying a better one.
