Hi all. I need a body shop for a major repair to my Q5's rear-end. Has anybody used Premiere in Danbury (http://www.thepremiercollisioncentre.com/), Pray in Stamford (http://www.praybodyshop.com/home.htm) or New Country (Wide Word of Cars) in Spring Valley (http://www.newcountry.com/wide-world-bmw-ferrari-maserarti-bodyshop-spring-valley.htm)? Or any other recommendations on places that focus on Audi/foreign/high-end cars? Or do you think I can just buff it out with a good compound? Thanks!
got to Robert at Final Touch Collision http://www.finaltouchcollision.net/ 6116 Broadway West New York, NJ 07093 (201) 854-3474
Thanks Phil. Yeah, I would absolutely use them (you recommended them to me in the past) but they are a pain to get to from White Plains, NY. Then again if I just have it brought on a flat-bed (even though it is driveable) then I don't really care how far it is. So I'll see if bringing it on a flat bed will be covered even though it's driveable. Thanks. That's also a little farther from White Plains than I was hoping to go. My bad, forgot to mention that I'd like to stay somewhere close to White Plains, maybe a 30-45 minute radius. FTC does barely fit that (but it requires a trip over the GW or TZ bridge). But if it can be on a flat bed then I don't really care about that...
My dad has used the recommended bodyshop for Yonkers Honda and they did an awesome work on his rear bumper replacement. Metallic flake was a 99% match and matched factory orange peel (minimal on bumper). I was impressed by their work specially for a Honda. I can try to get the info from my dad later today. I think the bodyshop is in Central Ave.
Thank you. Also, has anyone used Island Park Auto Body in Port Chester? That's who my Audi dealer recommends (not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but he did say they are Audi certified).
Oh man. I had actually narrowed it down to Pray. I spoke to them on the phone and they were very nice, they are Audi approved, and my insurance broker happens to have worked with them and never had any issues. Can you be more specific why you don't like them? Thanks again.
I saw the job they did on my dads Audi A8. He backed the car into a dumpster and they had to mend in part of the rear quarter as it was an aluminum body. The roof and rear quarters I believe were one piece so couldnt just replace the quarter panel. You could clearly see the mend line, in daylight and any light. I am very picky, but this job would be subpar for even an average person. The paint was a very poor match as well. At the time they were the only shop in the northeast authorized by Audi to work on aluminum cars so there was no choice who to use.
Can you also tell me more about Numme? They do have some good reviews online and may give them a shot.
Ive seen good work out of there, owner cares about making the customer happy. My car goes there in a few weeks for rear bumper re-spray.
