Ok, so I've got a sweet heavy-hitter (M105) and an amazing closer/finisher (Ultrafina), but I need something in the middle that just blows the other stuff away... Something with the versatility of D151, but without the LSP added in (so I can bust out the 'fina if I'm feeling saucy and want to take it to the next level :cig Any suggestions?
Get some SIP and use it with a green ccs after m105, then finish up with your ultrafina and you should be set.
SIP is generally the common favorite, even my own, and works out fairly well for most of us. I think there might be some Meg's products that are comparable to SIP but I haven't tried/found them out yet.
I've actually seen quite a few of my favourite forum pros using this combo... Never tried the SIP before, but I think you may have hit the bulls-eye with this suggestion Rocket :afro:
SIP is a good choice, as well as High Temp Extreme Cut, has around the same cut as SIP, quite a bit cheaper and also you could look at Meguiar's #83.....i would give the edge to SIP in terms of finishing down cleaner....
Cool, give it a shot and you will be quite pleased with the results. If the green pad doesn't get everything, step down to a white pad then back to the green, then finish up with a blue pad and Ultrafina. Just remember sometimes you have to do a 4 or even a 5 step polishing to get proper paint correction.
Another for SIP or Prima Swirl. While detailing a customers car I decided to test the cut of SIP and Swirl and they were quite similar using my PC. Swirl was slightly less cut but both finished LSP ready in my experience.
Ok, I'm just waaaaay too curious about this SIP now... :chitchat: Looks like we may have a winner here folks
I was about 5mins away from pulling the trigger on SIP when I saw a post on Menzerna Power Finish on this forum... How many of you guys have experience with this stuff? Is it really better than SIP?
Power Finish (PO203S) - will remove 2500 grit, cut 0.0- gloss 0.0, 1500 RPM - primed Orange (mid range, high density foam (60 PPI) medium abrasive cutting action)or a White primed (softer less dense foam (70 PPI) with a light abrasive cutting action) this is a a one-step scratch remover and polish Polishing - Menzerna Polishes - DetailingWiki
Thanks togwt, you're actually one of the pros whose opinion I really respect... Would you recommend this over SIP?
I would recommend this if you only had time to do a one step polish before your LSP. It cuts almost as well as SIP but it finishes down as nice as 106ff.
Thanks for the link to Detailing Wiki- awesome read. Everyone should take a look at that page!:thumb:
