In a couple of weeks I'm detailing an 08 BMW for a client.

Last year the car was left outside on July 4th and some fireworks landed on the trunk leaving some slight burn marks.

The clear feels rough where the burn marks are.

This the first time I have had to detail a car with this type of damage.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Richie

I would wet sand the area starting at maybe 2500 or 2000 least aggressive. See what happens and how happy you are with the area. Then move to 1500 or 1000 if needed. Polish and wax. Did this with a cigarette burn. If you can't get the whole thing out. It should be real close. depending on your situation. Please remember I am not a professional yet. I went and did this on my own with no advise. To help a friend and it came out perfect. I was very happy of the out come. either that or I probably would have screwed that whole thing up.:thumb:

Tell your client there are no guarantees that you can fix it

+1. I have successfully removed superficial burns via wet sanding.
