Hello, Everyone knows P1et here on this forum, a good old member. We have been talking alot for the last 2-3 years. Anyways, I wanted to get myself a new car, a summer cruiser/garage queen. So, maybe a american muscle car? Talked a bit with Piet and showed him a couple of cars. I also showed him a SL I liked. Then he mentioned that his mom and dad was thinking about selling their Mercedes 500SL. It was a 1998 modell, just droven 55k miles and was in a prestine condition. I got very interested, everything went well and I am now in Brugges, Belgium with a mercedes SL500 parked under the hotel, and the keys in my pocket. The car is AMAZING, and the condition is VERY good. This car in that good condition is hard to find. It is also the right year model, with right gearbox and engine. Me and a friend of mine took a flight down today, from Norway to brussel. Rented a car and drove to Philip and his wifes house, a fantastic house if I may add. After we had done the paperwork and seen the car, we went in to brugges. Were Philip and his wife took us out for dinner, it was a very nice evening with good food and beverage. Belgium beer is very good. We are relaxing at the hotel now, and ready to start the drove home tomorrow. First stop is stuttgart is Germany. At Mercedes museum. Here are some pictures from today: New day! Today we went for a walk in bruges, a very nice town! Filled with beer and belgian chocolate and old buildnings. Then we went to stuttgart, a 7 hours drive into germany. Checked in to the hotel, went for a nice dinner and now we are drinking some beer and jack daniels. Tomorrow its mercedes and audi museum. Here are some pictures from today, the city is Bruges in Belgium. Piets home town!! DAY 3; Had a long day today, but very exciting! We were going to the mercedes museum, but got invited to Scholl Concepts. The day went fast, and after some beer with Frank Scholl we are now on hotel in stuttgart. Its 01:43 AM here now. I am uploading pictures and will post them soon! DAY 4 AND 5: This was two BUSY days! Thursday we went to stuttgart and mercedes museum, stayed there to around 14.00 PM and took alot of pictures. Went over to Inglostadt and Audi museum, audi is 100 year this week...so only spescial invited got in. I was ANGRY! Started the drive up north, planned on Hamburg. We ended in helsingborg in Sweden, 1550km drive on 13 hours. We were SLEEPY. 4 Hours sleep and a good breakfast, started todays drive. 800km up to north sweden. Tomorrow its only a 4 hours drive back home! CAN`t WAIT TO GET THE ROOF OFF!!!!!
Ketil, after all this time it's finally a REALITY! Good to see you made it, my parents called me right after you went back to the hotel to let me know you two made it, and the car was yours. You guys on this forum don't even know what's coming yet, this is the mere beginning of what will be the THREAD of the DECADE!!! It will blow DOORS back!!! PS: Ketil, my mum said you left behind a black and RED bag with some goodies in it, she named off all the products. VERY NICE!!!

That's a great summer fun car and does look to be in spectacular condition! Can't wait for the epicness to begin!

Thanks Guys! I am updating tonight, just arrived at the hotel in stuttgart Germany. Had a nice ride from belgium, 7-8 hours. The SL runs GREAT, what a fast machine. Going out for some dinner and bars soon, will have pictures and update later tonight. Tomorrow is mercedes and audi museum.

Mate, this makes me VERY homesick! Keep taking those pics!!! Good to see you're trying some local BEERS and that you already found a shop that sells cheap detailing goods, NICE!!!
