I was on the look for some halogen lights and went here and there trying to find it, then decided to go to Home Depot and while looking aisle to aisle and happened to pass by the vacuum aisle, and found this vac and purchased it The fun part about this is that it was on clearance for $57.00 on clearance(reg. $75.00 +tax) and no tax, because the government decided to make a tax free days after a huge rainfall we had in here, so everybody could buy stuff. Not sure if this clearance is at all HD's, but might as well you guys take a look to make sure. Joey
Great Vac.. I own it as well.. I also got the upgraded hose (longer/beefier) and the claw attachment as well as an assortment of other attachments.. The claw and the crevice tool are all I really use... NIce find!
I'm not quite sure on the lift but is it safe to assume that if all units are 5HP, the lift should be around the same range across brands roughly? I have a Craftsman 5HP unit myself.
Hp or watts in a vacuum is like psi in a pressure washer. The numbers are pretty much useless. When purchasing a vacuum, its important to find out what the inches of lift are. Some less expensive vacuums could be well under 100. When you get a quality unit, like the Cobex I have or a WAP, they run around 100 - 120 inches of lift-same as in a Mytee extractor. Way more suction, way less noise. I understand not everyone can afford or would spend $500 on a vacuum, but that is the main difference between the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones. The less expensive will most definitely work, just not as well. If you take your vac to any vacuum repair shop, they should be able to measure the lit in your unit for you. Hope you find this useful.
